reblog to save a life so i don’t mow a fricker over
reblog bc they used to teach us the opposite in school and manner guides
this is so important though!! when you crouch down, it gives the impression that you’re talking to a small child and immediately infantilizes the disabled person. please treat us with respect!!
Puberty is such a bad time for people to be exposed to Tumblr’s ideologies about gender.
I’m glad that when I was 14 and uncomfortable with my body (to the point where I verbally claimed that I wished I was a boy, was disgusted by the idea of growing boobs, and angered by the thought of having to wear a bra) I had responsible adults to tell me that being uncomfortable with physical changes in your body at puberty is a NORMAL and natural part of life; instead of having Tumblr to tell me that I was dissatisfied with my physical form because I was actually a genderqueer demiboy or something like that.
This is transphobic.
This isn’t tranphobia at all. It doesn’t intend to minimize the issues of transgender people at all. To call such a statement transphobic is the equivalent to agreeing to the idea that anyone who has any soft of anxiety about their body is transgender which is simply not true.
Subscribing to such a belief leads to the harm of actual trans people.
Imagine if some people who had a normal amount of anxiety over their body began identifying transgender and then a few years later retracted this statement and (rightfully) called it a phase (of anxiety over a changing body).
How does this affect trans people? On a broad scale it gives the impression to the general public that trans people are going through a phase, or in more general terms, that their gender identity is illegitimate.
It is VERY well possible that people can falsely identify as transgender under the premise of uncomfortable development during puberty.
To call this person transphobic for simply stating that some people may misconstrue awkward puberty growth adjustments for legitimate gender dysphoria damages the transgendered community.
Learn what actual transphobia is before labelling something as transphobic and please think before ignorantly commenting on trans issues regardless of your gender identity.
The person you love is not the same as they were when you first started loving them and they are not the same as they will be when you die. Love must be adaptive. Love must be smart enough and strong enough to survive constant change. Love must not be rigid.
•your anxiety has made it difficult for you to voice your opinion
•your anxiety has made it difficult to dress the way you want
•your anxiety has made it difficult to ask for help
•your anxiety has made you constantly worry if you are being annoying and wonder if your friends and family are valid relationships or if they just put up with you because they have to
And please know that you are not fighting this battle alone. You are worth more than your anxiety says. You matter and so does your opinion and your say.
You are awesome
tumblr is a great place to be exposed to different identities and social justice, but a terrible place to actually educate yourself because this environment treats every mistake anyone makes as a permanent, irredeemable character flaw. people here use activism as the main justification for cyberbullying. no one wants to learn or take issues seriously because this user base salivates over any opportunity to punish or condemn other users.
if you genuinely want to advocate for marginalized communities, tumblr is a great starting point, but please do not rely on tumblr to shape your activism. go and do your own research. talk to your family and friends and people who are willing to share their experiences. lastly, and especially if you’re a minor, please stay safe and be careful about sharing your opinion on here! harassment is a very real problem.
growth is slow, but you’ll get there! don’t let tumblr’s acidic social climate stop you from wanting to learn and better yourself. most importantly, it’s ok to slip up sometimes. mistakes don’t make you a bad person, no matter what tumblr says. as long as your intentions are good, you’re doing fine. feminism and social justice involves a lifelong, continuous reshaping of ideology and you can’t expect it to happen overnight.
attention @ everyone who cares about animals!!!!!!!!!!
tl;dr: do NOT buy this brand of flea medicine. always do research before buying any kind of medication for your animals.
my boyfriend bought this at petsmart for our cat and when we put it on her, she started licking it bc i guess i accidentally placed it too low and he got worried so we’ve been on google to find out if it’ll harm her. we found some scary stuff.
it doesn’t happen to every cat that this product is used on, but there are reports of this product seriously hurting cats. it burns their skin and can be very painful. the screenshots above are reviews from amazon for the one in the blue box. the one we used is the one in the purple box.
some cats had reactions right away while others took a few hours. we put this on our cat about an hour ago (washed it off of her soon after) and she seems fine but we’re so worried about what could happen. even if nothing happens, this is a chance we never would had taken if we’d known.
ALWAYS RESEARCH BEFOREHAND. i can’t believe petsmart has this on their shelves after everything people have said about it. please spread the word by sharing this post! protect ur pets. a simple google search could have stopped all these cats from getting hurt.
