greg and rose do have a fusion, its steven.
and he is perfect
There has been a lot of hate for Pearl in today’s episode, but let’s just get some clarity on the situation.
“Some lost, defective Pearl.” Jasper said this in “The Return,” and unfortunately, it was an accurate statement.
Pearl is not a Gem that was ever built for combat. She took to the sword for Rose and Rose alone. She didn’t care about the planet or even her own existence. All she wanted was for Rose to be safe. She would do anything for the Gem that made her feel like she was everything.
I’m not saying this kind of devotion is healthy, but I think that’s the point. Pearl is lost without Rose. She was considered defective by her fellow Gems when she decided to fight and she is still considered defective.
We saw in today’s episode, that Rose has had many other human “phases,” and I’m sure that Pearl was agonizing with each one.
With the appearance of Greg, Pearl is forced to watch as Rose slowly slips through her fingers and connects with humans in a way Pearl doesn’t want to understand.
After all, Pearl didn’t fight for the humans. She didn’t care about their planet. Rose was her entire reason for protecting earth.
Greg says its torture to love someone, and at that moment, I’m sure no one understood that better than Pearl.
Sure she was mean to Greg, but in doing so, she was masking her panic, her pain, and trying to convince herself that Greg was just another phase. So cut Pearl a little slack guys, she’s hurting too.
“Everything I ever did, I did for her. Now she’s gone…but I’m still here.”
pearl is havin some of the best character development so far and im like super stoked about it
In the first picture, Pearl says, “Why are they still dancing, it didn’t work?” And Garnet replies with, “Yes it did.” I think Garnet not only saw an outcome of Greg and Rose’s relationship, she literally saw the future.
Which is why she was so stoic from earlier. She saw the outcome of the relationship, and she saw what was going to come of it, but Rose was like a child to all this. If she’d told Greg and Rose, Rose would’ve either shunned Greg away, like in Story For Steven, or she would’ve taken the risk anyway.
So when Garnet said the fusion worked, she saw Steven. She saw a successful fusion between a Gem, and a Human.
