You are loved. You are loved by God, even if you don’t believe in the Christian God. This needs to be said, and I know that there’s someone out there that needs to hear this. God let his son die so that you could be safe. He let his pure, precious son who had done no wrong be beaten, harassed, humiliated, assaulted, and crucified so that you wouldn’t have to suffer, and Jesus was as accepting of this as possible. They both love you. God loves you if you’re gay, God loves you if you’re transgender, God loves you if you’re agender. God wouldn’t let his perfect son suffer such a horrible torment if he didn’t love you. I’m not trying to convert anyone to Christianity, I just want people to know that God and Jesus love you enough to be nailed to a cross, so that you could spend eternity in paradise. When Jesus was on that cross, he was thinking about you, and how you would be able to live a good, long life. So please remember, you are loved.

So my dad teaches at a SUPER liberal school, and he’s basically right smack dab in between being a republican and being a democrat. He’s just about the only employee who’s not a raging liberal. And there’s one teacher at this school who’s gay, and his car broke down and he couldn’t take the bus because our city’s buses suck.
NO ONE would drive him. Except for my white straight Christian dad, who picked him up for 2 weeks.
A few months later, all the teachers went on a retreat. NOT ONE of the male teachers would room with him because they didn’t want him to hit on them and they were afraid he would. Except my dad, who was his roommate the whole weekend, and he told me the guy’s really nice (and now they’re friends).
A few weeks ago, my dad told me that the school had hired a trans woman as their secretary, and he was upset because there were lots of other employees saying they didn’t want that kind of image for their school, and my dad was the person who told them that this woman deserved the same respect the rest of us do.
Let’s stop pretending that all liberals and democrats actually practice the social justice they preach, and let’s please stop pretending anyone who’s Christian is homophobic or transphobic, because as far as I can see nothing could be farther from the truth.

In Matthew 19:12, Jesus (albeit vaguely) talks about accepting trans people
Jesus speaks out again ableism literally every five seconds pick up a Bible and flip to somewhere in the new testament and I promise you there will be something about it.
Also Jesus dying on the cross overrides all the rules established in Leviticus, which is pretty much the only instance of anti-lgbt sentiment in the whole book

even like leviticus, a lot of people translate that whole “man lies with another man” as actually something closer to “do not lie with another man IN THE BED OF A WOMAN,” which is less anti-lgbt and more anti-being-a-fucking-dick
In Matthew 19:11-12, Jesus says that not all men are are made to marry women. Some men are uninterested in women from birth, some are made uninterested by other men, and some men become uninterested by their own vows to church. Then Jesus urges acceptance.
There’s no “one parenting style fits all” formula but this man has the right idea. Here for it! Go dad!
Go off not everyone is religious but he is a good dad.
Honestly, i pray that when dealing with the stresses of parenting that I never forget my morals and my spiritual commitment. Absolutely great to see parenting like this
