according to various tags and comments I’ve seen on the submackeen post, Scout can’t read because:

“He’s got dyslexia" 

“He’s the other half of the mercs who can’t read" 

"He just has a lower reading level" 

and even "he’s probably just faking”

And then there’s the “Maybe it’s because, oh I don’t know, he just got hit in the fucking head by a crate that fell from the plane”
