Why? Why would you choose suffering forever?
“their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools” (Rom. 1) Why? Because people love their sin and wickedness more than they love God. And they think they are wise because of it. “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” (Prov. 14:12)
Anon you don’t seem to understand what Hell is, Hell is not being away from the presence of God it is being the in presence of God’s wrath for eternity. Reprobation is real, but right now you have the opportunity to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus, and no one who puts their trust in Him will be put to shame!
There are no second chances when you’re in hell. Please remember this before it becomes too late.
i know it’s scary. trust me, i know. this stuff is hard to talk about, which is why it needs to be addressed
but all the worst things about this world? the pain, the heartache, the wickedness?? that’s gonna be the entirety of hell, and there is absolutely no getting out of it. the only reason this world is slightly bearable is because God is a part of it, but when He’s gone, there will never again be any reason to hope. the good thing about this world is that the pain will eventually pass. nothing lasts forever. in hell, it lasts forever.
what i’ve experienced about God, before my doubts hit and i got into this deep spiritual rut, was that He’s so much more beautiful than you can understand. the absolute best things this world has to offer– laughing with friends until your side hurts, feeling your breath rush in wonder out because the sunset is so beautiful, feeling the affection of someone you love dearly? all that good stuff is microscopic compared to the beauty of God. Jesus is so beautiful and good and interesting He could blow you away for eternity.
He’s offering to literally lavish His love on you and hold you and keep you and protect you. He’s willing to forget your mistakes and sins in an instant and adopt you on the spot. we literally are incapable of understanding how much He absolutely, totally loves us.
following God is worth it. it will be hard, but it’s worth it. i’ve tasted only small, tiny slivers of God so far, but each time, it was enough to totally dazzle me for a good few hours
