The intended interpretation of this comic is:
It’s tempting to think of the artists you admire as being 100% confident magical superhumans, but in reality they have the same struggles & anxieties, and just happen to be further along in honing their craft.
Jiro works in a fish market because of familial obligation and also because he doesn’t know anything about how to run a business.
What is this comic??: SAKANA is a slice-of-life, romantic comedy (a sli-li-rom-com, if you will) that takes place in a giant fish market. It follows the lives of a few 20-somethings working at the market, their friends and family, and all the wacky situations they constantly find themselves in despite their best efforts. Basically they all want to date each other, but they’re all terrible at it, and also there’s lots of seafood involved.
Another suggestion for doodles! He just did this out of reflex haha, someone help him XD (check for captions!)
