what my favorite childhood cartoon shows taught me

thatgirlyousedtoknow:

Dexter’s Laboratory: having a sibling can be as fun as it can be annoying

Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends: people come in different shapes and sizes, with different backgrounds and beliefs, & being different is cool

The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy: forced me to confront my fear of spiders and addressed the permanence of death, also, taught me how to laugh at my mistakes and to see the good in bad moments

Ed, Edd n’ Eddy: best friends stick with you through thick and thin; no matter what, they’re there for you

Courage the Cowardly Dog: no matter how scary a situation is, it takes courage to face it

Codename: Kids Next Door: aging may force us to grow up and take responsibility, but the child in me never will (goof around, rebel)

Powerpuff Girls: it’s always good to have your sister or bro’s back. also, children are not to be tested.***like literally, do not test products on people and animals… unlike adults, children learn from their mistakes***

Totally Spies!: ***watched when i was going through puberty* women can kick ass and look good doing so

Scooby Doo: there’s always a reason as to why things are the way they are, but it’s up to you to do something if a person acts unjustly, to look beyond the facade, investigate, and analyze the evidence before accusing the person at fault

Tom and Jerry: violence gets you nowhere, holding grudges is unhealthy, but in the natural world, this can mean the difference between living and dying (food chain- should not interfere)

Camp Lazio: you may be stuck in the right place at the wrong time; you can make the most of it, especially summer vacation

Chowder: don’t say you don’t like something if you haven’t tried it

Hey Arnold: having healthy relationships with your friends and family can, at times, be difficult, but as long as you’re trying (and they are, too), it can work out. plus, growing up is tough

Rugrats: you’re imagination can take you farther places than your feet ever could

CatDog: ***i’m a twin so this meant ALOT to me*** it’s healthy to fight, it’s good to have space, & just because two things look the same does not make them the same (there is more to a person than what is seen)

The Wild Thornberrys: sometimes, family makes you feel trapped and in need of escape, but family always has your back. plus, respect nature and it will respect you back

Chalkzone: drawing is like writing, it can set your imagination free and allow you to draw a world all of your own

The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius: education does not have to be done by the book, and learning can be fun if you think about it like an experiment, not a test

I have learned a lot from these shows, more than I ever realized. don’t know if this is a good thing or not, but at least i can say that i enjoyed them ❤
