Hello graphic makers!! You’re probably aware that there is a huge problem on tumblr with whitewashing. As a predominantly disney-based blogger, the whitewashing I personally see are from the disney fandom, so I’m going to use screencaps from those movies to show you several quick techniques so you’ll see just how easy it is to have your pretty bright and pastel colour palettes and not whitewash characters of colour.

stop automatically demonizing neurotypical advice
“drinking more water” won’t cure you, but water is still good for your body and necessary for survival
“sleeping on a regular schedule” won’t cure you, but regular sleep is a natural mood stabilizer and will only help you
“going out in nature” won’t cure you, but the fresh air and exercise can often help your body feel more energized and give you a distraction from the day to day suffering
“going for a run” won’t cure you, but even if you can’t run, walk, letting your blood flow through your body is a good thing
“doing yoga” won’t cure you, but it could help you learn new ways of healthy coping and finding some peace in a scary whirlwind of mental illness
all the neurotypical advice that we love to hate won’t cure you.
but it won’t hurt you either.bonus if the advice is given by neurodivergent people.
there’s a pretty big difference between “just stop being depressed!” and “drinking lots of water and running in the mornings has helped me feel better when my depression kicks in”.
Plus, advice is something you can take or leave, or adjust to suit what you need. Maybe you can’t manage, for example, going to a yoga class, but you can manage some light stretching in your own house.
Advice is just a place to start, and it’s usually given with good intentions.

I have never been more proud of my fandom.
When it comes to creating characters, sometimes it’s easy to let them slip into the same old stock standard set of body types. Basically clones with a few props, hairdos and make up to spice things up a bit. After a while, having the same actor play dress up for every character gets kinda boring…
It’s tough to break the habit too, especially when you’re taught a single set way to draw. Not to say having a solid construction method is ever a bad thing, as long as it doesn’t confine your creativity.

but still im gonna give you my own personal tips i guess
Hey ! I was just passing by to say how much I admire your art, especially how you’re able to draw differents kind of body ! (I remember that drawing of the Gold Saints you made, they all had different faces forms, differents muscles structures… I was so impressed !) This really makes me want to ask more from myself and not just being satisfied with drawing always the same kind of torso, of face… Could I ask you advices to vary character’s shape and muscle structure ? ;-;
Please stop hating on hetero pairing just because they don’t match up with your ship or because both parties involved appear to be heterosexual. One or both of the characters in the pairing could be bi or pan so calling it homophobia just because it’s a m/f pairing is wrong and for a lot of people who preach acceptance for all types of love except for hetero, hypocritical. Trust me, the latter isn’t that rare of a bird on tumblr. And if the pairing is straight then so what? Are you telling me that by having a straight m/f pairing, they are automatically an insult to every other type of romantic/platonic ship? That’s just ridiculous. If you don’t like the ship, okay, but don’t label it falsely and spread hate because you want to discourage/shame others from shipping it. How about spreading positivity towards something you do ship? After all you attract more flies with honey than vinegar.
