As I’m sure you all know, Afro Brazilians and Black people in general in Brazil are often erased from media and government despite being over half the population. This year for the Festival of Flowers in Southern Brazil, an Afro Brazilian girl was nominated as Queen of the festival and is currently in the lead!
She’s the only Afro Brazilian nominated! However, racist organizers have been voting for another white contestant because they don’t want an Afro Brazilian to win and she’s losing her lead!! You can vote as many times as you want, but this would mean so much for Afro Brazilians and our visibility!
