DAVID FUCKING CAMERON IS DECIDING TO MAKE CUTS ON CAMHS, WHO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH THEIR MENTAL ILLNESSES, WHICH PUTS THEM AT RISK ON SHUTTING DOWN
NOW, THESE PEOPLE HAVE HELPED ME. A LOT. THEY’VE HELPED ME FIND THINGS ABOUT MYSELF I NEVER THOUGHT AND WITHOUT THEM HELPING WITH MY ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION, I WOULD BE DEAD. AND SO MANY OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE WILL BE IF THEY GET CLOSED OFF.

CAMHS IS STRUGGLING BADLY RIGHT NOW. How do I know? I’m only just getting into their care/treatment.
When I went and asked for an appointment it took about 2-3 weeks for them to contact me. After that it took about 3 months to have the appointment itself. It’s because every single appointment, every time slot, is filled in. They even say that if you don’t think you can make it to CANCEL asap because they need to give these appointments out to as many as they can. Now they have to have appointments for those they can help every few weeks rather than what some young people need, which is every few days.
THEY NEED MORE MONEY, NOT CUTS. They have been cut so much in the past few years I fear another cut in money for them will lead to CAMHS being useless for young people and possibly shut down.
