me: wow, i can’t believe the complexity and depth to pearl’s character in recent episodes, and this one in particular. her flaws are so painful and real and she does such terrible things, not out of malice but sheer desperation, and you can tell how much she needs help, and steven and amethyst see it too, they condemn her actions without condemning her. i think that’s beautiful and such an important separation to make, to acknowledge that bad actions don’t make the person bad, especially when they come from such a deep, messy, hurtful place and when the person expresses clear regret for them
me: anyway i can’t wait to look in the tag and see everyone bashing her senseless lol
